The Kazakh investment holding "Samruk-Kazyna" offers the Government to transfer the operational management of the Kazakhstan Railway to the "daughter" of the German Deutsche Bahn (DB) – DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, for the transformation of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ ) into a transport and logistics company, reports portal "Inbusiness.kz ".

In the Samruk-Kazyna project, DB is expected to increase efficiency, including through the introduction of a hub system and intermodal transportation. It is the development of transport and logistics hubs with the participation of Deutsche Bahn for the organization of distribution centers that will increase Kazakhstan's transit capabilities and develop new trade, logistics solutions and services to increase the country's role in world trade, which will attract interest in trans-Kazakhstan corridors, private investment in the sector and increase the activity of local companies.

The German company is proposed to transfer the functionality of management and operational support in the process of transformation of KTZ into a national transport and logistics company for the development of transit, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route TMTM, as well as the provision of high-margin logistics services, which does not exclude the formation of competitive conditions for the development of private business.
