Russian Railways and BDZ will develop infrastructure in the direction of the ports of the North-West

According to the press service of Russian Railways, the agreement provides for an action plan for infrastructure development calculated until 2026. Each of the parties will implement projects on its territory.

In particular, the plan provides for the development of the Novosokolniki – Bottom – Batetskaya – Luga-I direction with the construction of five sidings. Technical re–equipment of communication networks is planned on the Batetskaya - Luga-I section, and construction of two sidings is planned on the Luga–I – Pskov direction. Also in the future, it is planned to develop railway approaches to the multifunctional transshipment port "Bronka".

In Belarus, it is planned to strengthen infrastructure and overhaul artificial structures in the direction from Zhlobin station to the border with the Russian Federation. In addition, the parties will jointly work out the issue of electrification of the line from Zhlobin to Luga-I station.
