The railway traffic of Kazakhstan pursuant to 2023 results covered over 27 million tons of transit cargoes

The total volume transported amounted to 32.3 mullion tons. 5 million of which were transported by road, which is very important and record-breaking; 27.3 million tons were transported by railway.
The territory of Kazakhstan hosts 13 international transit corridors, 5 of which are by railway and 8 – by road. Kazakhstan provides for transportation of transit cargoes both from China and from Central and Southeast Asia.
“The amount of the transit freight from the People's Republic of China and from the Russian Federations is in general remarkable. Almost 900 thousand containers in 20-feet equivalent have been transported in 2023. The growth reaches 15%”, Zeynolla Akhmetzhanov, the Deputy Director of the Transport and Infrastructure Department of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
